I love the beautiful lichen that grows on our Live Oak trees. According to the Texas A&M Extension Service, lichen benefits the host plant with added moisture and environmental protection. Further, “lichen is admired as the one of the most efficient colonisers on the planet”. Good to know!

Have a look at ball moss. What can you learn about it? It also is quite pretty, until it gets too thick on trees. Worries me a lot!
